Happy Halloween!

Here are some samples of cards I made for Halloween to send to friends. Easy to do with the new Brother Scan n Cut machine which kicked out all of the Jack O Lanterns and their details. Finishing off with some leftover embellishments I had from years back, the cards were done in no time.

A good lesson that everything doesn't have to be a Big Deal! Even if we always think so.

Happy Halloween! Have a safe and fun holiday.

Halloween Cards Easy to Make

There's still time to make some handmade Halloween cards for all of the ghouls in your life. I simply bought some empty card sets at a craft store and rounded up some old paper remnants and some cute accents I had lying around for the October holiday. Even if you only have orange and black paper on hand, you can still come up with some clever ideas for card faces. And making them with little ones can be even more fun.

With so many neat card-making supplies and embellishments to choose from these days, making cards -- and scrapbook pages -- is easier than ever.

Happy Halloween!

Creativity Tip No. 40

Halloween's a'coming!

I whipped up these Halloween potholders last year for my daughter-in-law to brighten up her kitchen. I crocheted them and had fun adding the details.

For those who crochet, basically you make two orange and two black circles, whatever size you want. Then you add little crocheted details, also simple, plus a little embroidery for the cat's whiskers and mouth.  Sew the two circles together and then crochet a short strip to be used as a hanger.

These are more decorative than useful.. If you really want to use them to hold hot pots, you will have to add some type of insulation between the two main circles. I prefer to hang them on the refrigerator where they make me smile and stay clean!
